Question. For those running aftermarket aluminum heads and intakes, bare no paint or polish, what do you do to keep them from oxidizing and looking like crap?
Really tempting to go back to my original idea of painting the headsI don't have any aluminum heads, but on intakes I use VHT aluminum paint after a good coat of VHT primer. I don't clear over it because it yellows and looks like rotten dog butt.
How’s that hold up to engine temps
Hmmm so gold heads or red heads
To tell you the truth, I have never used it. I heard about it on this web site and have heard great things about it. It needs reapplication periodically. How’s that hold up to engine temps

Yeah no. Red gold is the comboFord light blue.
When you say it didn’t hold up, did it harm the underlying metal or just kind of burn off?Hey Chris the sharkhide works great on the intake but not on the heads I coated my aluminum heads with it and it didn't hold up. Coated everything with it and 10,000 miles and it is still good.
