That is the question.

My aluminum intake is discolored, (after removing it and cleaning it), and I like the painted manifold look.

Also, what about painting the pan under it?

I'd say paint both the intake and the valley pan engine color. It will give it sort of a sleeper look.

I was thinking that might be an option.

Does anyone have pics?

I like the look of an aluminum manifold myself...I like when everything is painted separate...If the heads are aluminum, I like to leave them that color, but if iron heads are used, of course they would be the same color as engine. But I know were talking about manifolds, and I like aluminum lookin manifolds! lol

If you like paint, paint it.

If you want it to look like aluminum, but be able to clean it, clear coat it after it is clean. I sand blasted one of my old intakes and it looked like new

Send it to Leanna, Cudachick68, and she'll make it to where you dont have to do anything to it for several years.

Any pics of a high rise painted?

I like those.
Did he make that fuel line?

The Weiand (on right) uncoated and sitting on a shelf in my garage for about a year. Edelbrock STR bead blasted and clear coated with POR-15 sitting on a shelf in same garage about 15 years.Bead blasting darkens it a little bit to more of a gray than a silver and makes the color more consistant. Some like it and some don't.

Just installed may new intake that Leanna powder coated alien silver over ink black and clear coated. She also gave my valve covers the same treatment, and I just had to drop one on to see how it looked. I had her do the valley pan hold down plates as well and I painted the valley pan black. What do you think?

Ken ..... awesome!!! I think what you had in mind when you first called me turned into a total home run in application. Please send me a copy of that pic (and any others you might have after you get done with the installation) when you get a chance so I can add you to my Customers' Rides section on the website. Be proud! She looks terrific. Well, as terrific as can be with one silver and one black valve cover. LOL

Here's a few more of mine ...

Afterthought: Three out of four of those intakes are for FABO members -- clhyer, hamesdart and memike. :-D

I reaaaaly like that Alien Silver. Cloest thing to a fresh OOTB intake.
SHe'll be getting a few intakes from me soon.

Can't go wrong with Powder coating, even if you prefer the aluminum look a clear powder will keep it in nice shape.

Clearcoated silver paint didn't hold up well for me. The clear discolored quickly from the heat. Powdercoat has worked well. I went with a semi-gloss clear.
