I am contemplating getting an aluminum master, maybe one from an 80s diplomat (new unit).
Would I need to change the pushrod or will the stock one work on an early a-body?
thanks!

Do you have 4 posts or 2 ther now?I,ve use the cast 4 post(dual cyl.)old style 73up with the original pushrod from single master. For the aluminum dual post(I used from a newer Dakota)you can buy an adapter plate 4 to 2 post. You might have to adjust your peddle stop for tailights.I now have a 2 post mounted on the top 2 posts and modified an ajustable pushrod for my application(with fenderwell hedders)So yes it can be done.Pic of my 66 Dart

You should be able to use your existing pushrod. You can get the correct adapter from a number of places such as Mancini Racing or DoctorDiff.com. They can also sell you a heat shield like the one pictured above.
