AlV 69 Dodge GTS project

with the space you have to work with you and your son are doing a great job. love the car. I will be watching the progress. Wes :happy1:
Thanks Wes! Welcome, we love this car lately we've been debating on the color. I want to go original B5 and My wife kind of likes the darker version on there now. Things have been slow but I hope to start picking back up soon.
It sure is tight but I'm not complaining too much :glasses7: it's better than not having a place to work.

Still lovin it.

I just saw this thread and subscribed to it. Great job on documenting the work. I'm with crackedback on your skills, you're definitely not a beginner! Thanks for sharing with us.

Hi Brock, Welcome!
I just got back from a trip to Winter park ( family reunion ) what a great time. We don't have skiing like that on the east. lol

Glad you like the thread. It's been an awesome experience for us, Thanks for the Kudos . I must admit though I really do stumble a lot, best way I can describe it is we take our time and read a lot then hack away and take lots of pictures. :-D

Stay tuned, we have the first run on the 340 and the Body shop should be coming soon.

-AlV

Hey "V",
The manifolds look great. Your attention to detail shows me that you are defiantly not a beginner. Great work!!

Thanks Martin!

Your car looks amazing! Talk about attention to detail :D. I really like the Oil pressure gauge, great idea. The Engine and trans look outstanding. Great work.
You're going to have a very nice car, I can't wait to see it done.
I'll plan a road trip to NC I have family by Raleigh in Cary.

-AlV

Thanks "V" I appreciate the compliment. Raleigh is only 60 miles from me and all interstate. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Excellent thread!! A lot of parallels to my cuda clean up. Great photo posting and a word of thanks to you as I'll likely reference your thread if there end up being any areas I forgot to photograph.

Almost time to shift gears and get momentum back.

Thinking about rebuilding the A833, cleaning up the linkage and pistol grip while the guys work the body.

Hey "V",
If you like good BBQ and hushpuppies, you need to try out Parkers BBQ in Wilson. Been there since the late 40's. Come on down, I'm buy'n!!!

You don't have to ask me twice lol.

With that little 9oz gravity fed spot gun I wouldn't do more than small parts. BUT, I could use the box with a 20lbs set up from HF which might cost ($50) more to do some bigger pieces.

:glasses7:

Kind of an interesting 48 hours. One of those good news bad news scenarios. I usually like to get the bad news so first so that's how I'm telling it.

My Pickup was rear ended ( of course I was in it) while I was stopped at a light. :wack: After the incident and I cooled my Jets the person who hit me explained what happened, "I'm sorry! I was in a rush to get to work and wasn't paying attention. Then when I realized you were stopped I slammed on the gas instead of the brakes!"

WHAT???? Really!! Grrrrr. :violent1: But instead of getting crazy and losing it, I noticed how shook up she was and replied at least no one got hurt.

On to the good news. While I was in the throes of this incident I received a call from Mark (from the body shop) who had left a message because I didn't answer. I remember thinking how serendipitous that he was calling me at the moment. Anyway, I figure I'd call him back and let him know I had some collision work. Still bummed at this time I listened to the Voice mail. He was letting me know that they were digging into the Dart. Hot Damn! yep that made my day.

Well of course I gave Mark a ring and worked out the Collision details and not to long after I started to get text photos, Which really picked up my mood.

Yessir, it's on.

Sorry to hear bout the accident. Maybe the body shop can cut you a deal on the dart, now that yer giving him more work?? LOL
Sure looks solid! Great pics of the young lad helping you out too. Here is a link to homemade sb cabinets on the cheap
http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=141326&highlight=cabinet

Keep up the great work and documentation!!

Hahah, The folks taking care of the Dart have really awesome. They are great guy's. Luckily my damage turned out to be minor so I ducked one there.

The SB thread was cool! Do you have a finished picture of your freezer? Leanna's use of the oven door was great!.

Sweet project! I'll be watching this one too

Thanks man! I'm not trying to make it looked like it was a complete resto even though everything will be touched. It's not as easy it it sounds lol

It's pretty amazing how solid the body is so we take a section at a time and then discuss how to approach it.

The driver side carried the most damage like the car was side swiped which is why I decided to go with the AMD skins there.

Here is a shot of the driver's side before.
