What is it when a carb has a annular discharge ? And what is it good for ?

See this month's Popular Hot Rodding, there is a whole article about carbs that shows all the differences.

It's a type of booster in the venturi of the carb. They are more sensitive to airflow, so they work decent in carbs that may be "too big" for a given engine. Or on engines that might be soft in the lower rpms. They can cause surging at cruise if not the carb is not tuned right too.

Also, typically you will only find them in the bigger carbs like dominators and king demons

So they are to put on engines that might be to small for the carb ? Or is the otherway around ?

Carbt o big for the engine, OR, very weak vaccum signal at the carb.
