I put this together last winter for a friend. It was an assembled engine he got with a car. I took it apart, had the assembly balanced and the hone lightly redone. It has speed pro pistons, 8.8 to 1 with a felpro gasket, 2.14, 1.81 valves, I did a little porting in the bowls, Comp Xe268 cam which is 224 230 @050 on a 110. Windage tray, stock intake and a 750 quick fuel carb. It made 380hp and 421 ft lbs. Very very close to my 383 I just dynoed. Doesn't take much to get these Mopar to 1 hp per cu inch.

Yall are startin the pull too high to get the max torque. They're stump pullers down low.

Why didnt they build these off the line like this? Nothing radical cept the headers....in the HP.wars back then it seemed so simple to raise your stock HP 20% with bolt ons?
