Antenna Nut

Is there any way to remove the top ring nut on the antenna that holds the base to the fender without a special tool? Any trick here?

You could try a snap ring plier with 90 degree tips.

Try circlip pliers.

Channel locks with a rag on the end so you don't mess the nut up to bad.
