Anti-Theft Screws

Does anybody know where to get the tool to remove the screws holding the gas cap on. Dont really want to grind down my own socket, but will if I cant find the tool. Thanks.

i bought a complete set of security bits (100 types/sizes) from Harbor Freight...

Too bad the bit required isn't in any of the Harbor Freight sets.

Easiest way is to open the trunk and grab them with vise grips from the back .

I assume they are the cone with 3 slots on 67-69 cuda gas cap?

I believe they are called "clutch headed screws", but maybe a picture for toolmanmike would clear up the mystery. If they are clutch head, that bit can be had easily enough. The tool man would certainly be able to identify them though!!! Geof

The cap on my 68 Bcuda had Phillips heads, they looked original.

I got mine from McMaster-Carr.

Snap-On and MAC both had these sockets, but are long discontinued. McMaster-Carr does have it, and it's something like 20 bucks.

Use a small die grinder with a disc and cut a slot in each one and use a screwdriver to remove them.
