I'm trying to talk myself out of registering for the stickshift class with my black 66 Charger.

I'd take the GTS but it would not be competitive based on 2024 results.

Redwood Rally | Drag and drive | Northern California, CA, USA

Any feedback or banter is appreciated.

The Redwood cruise is later in the year, Sept 22-27... But yeah, the Chaos Cruise is April 18 & 19... I'd love to do the Chaos Cruise, two days in an area I haven't spent enough time enjoying... But I think Spring Fling being at the beginning of April is gonna get my free time...

"The 2025 Redwood Rally will take place September 22nd - 27th beginning at Medford Dragstrip, then on to Coos Bay Speedway, Woodburn Dragstrip, Madras Dragstrip, and back to Medford Dragstrip "

i cover most of the traveled area for work so that would help with planning. At this point I'm on the fence about wearing out my race car driving it around Oregon. This winter has been brutal on I-5 and Highway 42 just also on my mind. A new set of bias 13x31 ET streets is $850. They would probably be junk after a week of pulling a trailer.

I need a sign!

You just had to post those snow photos... Pass!! Thing about the Chaos cruise is being a two day event it doesn't require hauling a trailer, And face it, Samoa Dragstrip seems like an awesome place to get in a few passes..

Although I never really liked 66-67 Chargers, I have really liked this one for years! Which motor are you using? Generally, what are the rules for this class?

The stick class is RWYB no tire limitation. We have the Cab B1 572 ready to dyno, a 499" -13 engine ready to assemble (your old heads and t-ram) and I'm picking up a mystery Indy headed engine on Saturday.

There are cars in the class well into the 5's so it's pretty darn competitive.

Class Rules:

3 PEDAL - PRESENTED BY MOTORFAB USA
● 1/4 mile
● Import & Domestic run in the same class in 2024
● RWYB, as long as you're dumpin' clutch and banging gears manually.
● Must have clutch pedal and traditional right hand operated shift lever. (I have lots of Aussie mates…if
they show up and shift left handed, that’s permitted)
● Lenco transmission permitted as long as there’s a clutch & pedal.
● Pro-Stock, Liberty style transmission with clutch and forward-backward, style shifter permitted.
● “Manual” paddle shift ***Prohibited*** You can run in other categories.
● 1 time slip per day.
● Quicker than 6.50, and NOT a factory engine compartment configuration: Lower engine
containment device MANDATORY
● We highly recommend a lower containment on ALL vehicles, however some “Off the showroom floor”
modern vehicles are extremely difficult to install. However, if you CAN fit a diaper on your car, PLEASE
DO

I wish I had a car that could get a license plate, I would do that with you... probably not this year because of financial reasons but that sounds like a lot of fun. Oh I don't have a stick shift either.

Snow is great

Did the first year 23. you will definitley catch some rain. Samoa is always damp in the morning as is Coos bay. they do a pretty good job on drying. Just plan for rain. It was a great time and great people.

I’d love to come up and do it. Unfortunately my stick car won’t be ready and in September I’ll be in bonneville. Maybe next year.

Which is going to be a stick car, your 70 dart ?

I work in Coos Bay and Eureka and you are correct on the damp/wet. Samoa is basically in the Ocean. Coos Bay is in a damp valley across the street from the river. Even with those factors there are fast cars that get down those tracks without issue. Samoa is not on the list this year. I will be surprised if they make the route go down 199 back up 101 to get to Coos Bay.

I've been to the Kool April Nights shindig when a friend used to live in Redding.
The Friday night before the show, they block off several streets and let the participants of the show engage in a big cruise in Redding. It is a sight to see, all sorts of cars and trucks that may or may not even be street legal, running along the roads like it was 1981 again.
The show itself is great too. It is ALL makes and models but you do see some rare and unusual stuff there.
One year I saw a "White" commercial truck. I've never seen another before or since. I'm not certain but I think it had a wooden dash board and hand controlled advance for the distributor. It was there that a man told me what M G stood for. (Morris Garage).
