Watching, CBS, Academy of Country Music, "All Star Salute to the Troops" I thought this came off rather well. Several military folks did cameos with backup vocals and instruments

Best part? Everybody pretty much has their clothes on, AKA no twerking

We watched too and thoroughly enjoyed. Both my wife and I would have liked to see the military performers be able to have more separate "mike time" than being so overshadowed by the celebrity singers.
On a side note, I wonder what the culture in the middle east thinks of Coast Guard Lt. j.g. Katie Spira being second-in-command of a warship in their waters? Must tweak their minds something fierce!

I used to love the Soldiers Shows and if I catch the Air Force Band I'll stop and listen every time.
The military is loaded with great talent, lord knows you gotta do something while you're hurry up and waiting.
But I couldn't bring myself to listen to country music. I see the first 10 mins or so, but that was all. It's about time the military gets it's proper's for their talent.

"Country" music is not the top of my list either ..........I hated Buck Owens.........but there was some real talent there that night, just plain decent talent. I really enjoyed it.

Far beyond, it REALLY glares the stupidity of crap like Miley Cyrus, "Lady Gaga, and similar tripe.

Sounds cool. I ditched cable and direct tv so now I just have the local channels and I am always looking for stuff to watch, mad I missed it.
