I`m building a custom chassis for my old dodge and bought non Ma, springs cause of measurements needed and they were discounted, New. I took them back to the spring shop to de-arch cause they would of brought the *** up way too high. Well in my opinion the tech reverse bent them too much. After 2 days of trying to contact manager by phone and e-mail "figureing he was blowing me off" , he finally called back this morning, We discussed my concern, and told me that they would be OK? Your thoughts? View attachment 174960

If I known they would turn out like this I would of returned them but if they still operate like they supposed to, I`d like to go on with the build.

They're not gonna break if that's your concern. You wont know about ride quality til she's on the road. Is your ride height where you want it?

Should be close. I`ve just tacked the front spring mounts. held off on the back mounts, cause position will change if their rearched. This has been frustrating to no end. You hear the term spring windup, well seems these will be prewound? I`d just hate to start all over again, lot of work/time involved in fabbing this stuff. I just figured I`d get a better job on the De`arch and was worried the springs would`nt function like they supposed to?

I'd run em as is, see where you are at when it's all mocked up. Not sure what kinda car your building tho?

I don't like them. They don't look right. In the second pic, it looks like there is a gap between leaf 3-4 and its bent down. Whats up with that.
Also the very bottom leaf looks like it is only supporting the rear section of the spring. You would want it to be the other way around, to stiffen the front segment to prevent spring windup on acceleration.
You are putting a lot of work into your project, do it right the first time.
Good luck.

My thoughts exactly. The man did say he would redo them if it would make me feel better, said he had better luck bending them that way. I think he was just blowing smoke up my:bootysha: He screwed me once before, now it`s shame on me:angry7:

Why would you go through all the trouble to make your own frame and use leafs???
Cost? Ma did it that way? Old school dummy? Hey I`m winging it here, No chassis expert, thats for sure. I scrapped the late 70s Chevy chassis that was setting under it. Guess I`m stubborn with keeping minimal Chevy **** off this car. Don`t wana hear no Chevodge or Dodgalet terms thrown at my ride. Oh well I bought em, gonna use em. Just got back from spring shop, could`nt stand the thought of using the springs like they were. He hooked me up, made it right, Funny how he said they would be OK over the phone, but yet he told me he jumped the techs **** about bending them like that:angry7: If I did`nt press the issue, he would of let me eat. Jeeze, All is good,no charge for the de-arch twice, Thread can die8) till my next wtf whine:-D
