Anyone else racing in Houston (Baytown) 1st weekend in Feb.?

Bracket racing Fri Sat Sun Feb 3,4,5. TNT on Thursday. Last bracket race before they tear it down.
If you are getting a hotel room I recommend paying for the free cancellation because you never know about Houston weather!

Last time I drove to Texas for a race I came back with 8 black lab puppies. We had to put masking tape around their necks and number them so we could keep track of who we bottle fed. 26 hrs. to drive there . 38 hrs. to drive home.

Did you go for the puppies or the racing?

We were there racing at a national event . My daughter and friend followed a dog to a camper from the pits into the woods and found the Puppies. When the owners saw them they came out and they didn't know the puppies were there.

My Daughter was initially looking for the yellow lab pups that were running on the track. When I went to the camper after my daughter got permission to get a puppy from my wife. We saw all 9 yellow labs laying there dead. They drown them in a barrel.

I asked what they were doing with the black labs and he pointed them out in a metal crate and said pick one out if I want one the rest are going in the water. We took them all. It was a no brainer.

My daughter was crying all weekend she was 12 yrs old. I told the track owners and they called the police. We spent the whole morning catching the yellow labs to get them off the track. Then the owners of the track took them to the house where they came from.

My daughter had one picked out of the yellow labs that she caught. She went there to ask for him when they saw the black lab litter at the camper. The yellow labs were about 12 weeks old. The black labs were only 3-4 weeks. When we arrived home we advertised them for $150.00 each . Who ever called we screened. When they went to pay we gave them the pup for free. We just wanted to make sure they got good homes.We kept One . "Bullet"

Well, typical weather outlook for the Houston area in February: rain. I'll make a final decision the week of the event, but my hotel room has free cancellation.

What sucks is if you don't go it won't rain there. Isn't that how it always works out. Fell behind in points many times not going and found out the lord had a large umbrella over the track.

Yep. Murphy's Law. In this case the track is closing down, so if it gets rained out I don't think we'll get our entry fees back.
