Just wondering if anyone recognizes this car or if the currant owner happens to be a member on here? I sold it back in 2006 on eBay to a guy in Illinois. It was a very cool complete numbers matching and rare 1972 340 4-Speed Demon! LM29H2B4434XX Out of respect for the new owner I don't want to give out the whole vin number... It was an original FE5 red car with black tail, hood, and side stripes with the factory T/A looking hood scoop on it along with a black vinyl top. If I remember correctly it had factory 3.91 gears in it. Also not sure if all 340 4-speed cars had them but the Demon did have the factory torque boxes as well. At one time it was a very sharp looking car! Anyway the fellow that bought the car from me was planning on a full resto for the Demon. Unfortunately shortly after he purchased the car he left eBay and I of course lost his contact info over the years... I was just wondering if the car was ever finished or how it is progressing? So far I'm unable to locate the break down of the fender tag and of course the only picture that I can find of it is blurry! I purchased the car from the original owners nephew so I was able to get some history on the car. He never even had a chance to title it in his name before I bought it... so I signed the cars original title! The Demon was being stored in a diary barn since sometime in 1980! The nephew just dug it out of the barn for the first time since 80 literally the day before I saw it! The dents in the front fender and drivers door were from cattle and farm equipment bumping into it over the years! The original owner was a hot rod guy and basically modified and raced the Demon from the day he bought it... then around 79 / 80 he decided to restore the car. As you can see he got as far as taking it apart and unfortunately sanding most of the paint off before all work just stopped. Then for whatever reson it just sat unfinished in the barn all that time. Thankfully other than the surface rust is was an extremely solid car from being stored indoors all of those years. I should have kept it but at the time I had my 71 Challenger and was working on my brother's 68 Bee. Oh well at least I made a nice profit on it. That said it would be neat to see it again all fixed up! A cool side note shortly after I purchased the car I was talking with another local Mopar guy that has owned his AAR Cuda since 74... Anyway I was telling him about the Demon... long story short he used to run around with the original owner of the Demon back in the day and remembered it very well! According to him the Demon had quite the reputation of being a very fast car back then and verified some of the history as was told originally by the nephew! Small world...
