Something I’ve always wanted to try. Do any of y’all do this? I’ve read Caswell is one of the best. Looks pretty straight forward.

I have used a bunch of the caswell stuff and it works good. The cad kit is not real cad but does look like cad. I think its just a dull nickel finish.

Okay thanks! Does this stuff hold up like a standard grade 8 fastener you’d buy at the hardware store? Or is that just not possible with a DIY system?

Seems to hold up better than hardware store grade 8 zinc finish. Nickel is much tougher and you can also wax the finish which helps weather proof it.

Real cadmium is a particularly nasty carcinogen:

I think the nickel would be a better alternative.
