auto to manual conversion

Any help ?
I have 1970 duster was a slant 6, putting in a 318 from 74 gold duster.
car is an automatic and would like to convert to manual transmition.

question number one
am i wasting time with 318 ?
possibly upgrade to 360 ?
plus transmission conversion.

I have a pedal z bar and hump assembly $350
I also have an OD A833 $150 needs 2 shifter forks no shifter or rods.


The 318 is a decent engine but there is no replacement for displacement.
