AVS Carb # Question

When it comes to carb #s, I absolutely forgot what the S stands for after the # (ex, 4429S)? Was that a CA designation?

I don't believe it has anything to do with Cali, I've got an East coast car with an S carb...

The AVS stands for Air Valve Secondary.

I think he means 4611s which is what is on my 69 340 manual trans Dart.

I had heard but not positive that the S stood for the plant name that they were made at Carter. Again not postitive about it!

Yes, that is what I was talking about. This is driving me a little insane because I use to know what it stood for and now it appears to have been erased from my memory banks.

I thought the S represented smog too. I know 4295 and 4305S are nearly identical. That S carb is CA emmisions version.

Thank you. I thought it was meant to designate a CA version.
