bad lifters

-
have you checked the valve stem heights to see if they are all the same like waggin suggested?i had this same problem before, and that was the cause in my case.installed adjustable rockers and the problem went away.mine was a comp cam/lifters as well.

Generally a solid lifter is a little shorter than a comparable hydraulic, requiring a longer pushrod.? I guess it`s like dusterglenn and dgc333 have pointed out, even among hydraulic lifters, there`s over 1/8" of difference in pushrod lengths depending on the manufacturer. The main thing is that Snake`s got his ride going again without the ticking thanks to the help he got here .

common problem is that some guy's that do a valvejob arent familiar with doing a set of heads in a balanced manner and mess up a set of mopar heads to where you need to get adjustable rockers, the way a set of mopar heads are done properly is the same way a set of chevy heads should be done...or ford heads...or amc heads........etc.Ma mopar set the standard,I have run chevy racecars and won and mopar racecars and won and frod racecars and won.........my buddie and machinist runs amc and has won races and (to his credit) has dodge 360 in his 71 javelyn.......It haul's the grocery's..................

Ok This cam will go into my 360 next winter. What brand of push rods and rockers should I get waggin,do I realy have to get the corect lenght push rods, I thought the adjustable rockers would take up any slack.
