Well, I finally found the time to tackle the belt line weatherstripping on my 65 barracuda but I've hit a snag. I had ordered a 8 piece kit from Steele Rubber (since most others seem to make only 6 piece kits) and it looks like the outer weatherstripping for the doors needs to be longer than the ones I was sent by about 2 inches. All 4 door strips that I have are the same length, plus I thought the outer strips would be rubber, not just felt.

I will call them in the AM when they open, but was just wondering if I was missing something.

I had the same problem on my 66 dart Mine were from Restoration Specialties. "Cat Whiskers" They sent them for a convertible and they fit exactly right

Thanks for the reply. I called Steele Rubber and they were going to call their supplier and find out what happened. If they don't have any answers when they get back to me I'll have them send me the convertible ones.
I know something just isn't right.

blackdart66,

I owe you a beer. I had them send me the ones you suggested and I test fit them last night and they are just what i need.

Thanks again.

No problem........lol, glad it worked.

Were yours "Cat Whiskers" ? If so, they are manufactured by Restoration Specialties. I spoke to the owner about this problem so I figured he had it fixed.

Yup, they are made by restoration specialties. I just sent back to wrong ones directly to them. It sounds like they have heard of the problem, maybe steele rubber just had an old set in stock?

Either way, thanks again.
