Best guess on 416 motor

-
congrats on a job well done! the car picked up a bunch from your first tests with the 416.

Yes the other car didn't have a roll bar. So 11.50 was a factor. LOL
Point is that in a real race car same motor less weight better traction, and a rear end that don't break. a low 10's is possible. This is a very street able build as well Motor wise.:burnout:

Car runs good . What does the car weigh and what is your 1/8 et and mph? I can't relate to 1/4 mile there are none in my state.

Car weighs 2624 full of race gas. with out driver
Best 60 foot 1.39
1/8 mph 103.53
1/8 et 6.557

Can you give us more info on the race car, as to what was done to make it light weight? Power steering? Power Brakes? Any Fiberglass? No interior at all? Cage material type? Stuff like this please!

Wish I could get my D50 that light. They don't make any fiberglass parts for it. You are 150 lbs lighter than it. Why are you running race gas with 10.65-1 comp.? My 394 small block is 10.9-1 and it runs faster on super unleaded (93).

Car started as a feather light duster in 1976 do some research on them {rare}. /6 4 speed.
Has a aluminium trunk lid from factory. The aluminium hood is now a fiberglass one.
Fiberglass bumpers with aluminium brackets. Mild steel cage. Sheet metal interior, one seat. No power steering or power brakes, has a rack & pinion. Dana 60 with ladder bars.
Hope that helps.:burnout:

We don't get good gas here. It goes dead in 3 months if you let your car sit. {We use a lot of fuel stabilizers.} Plus not a cheap motor so VP is just for insurance.
We pay $1.33 for our parts with the dollar difference. :burnout:

Our gas is junk too after about three weeks it starts to smell bad. If my car is going to sit I'll drain the tank and run the carb out of gas.

From my experience with my race dart, 414/727/5000 stall/4.56 gears/30" tall slicks. You will trapping at least 7700 or some where around there. I have a 7300 chip in mine and am on the chip long before the line. I'm not pushing mine higher than that. My buddy and I just changed the gear ratio's to 4.11 and hopefully if the weather holds this weekend we'll find out if it was a smart move or should have gone with 4.30's.

No way, not unless your converter is very un-efficient. He'd have to trap at 138 mph to get his combo to go 7700rpm.

Best pass to date now is 10.33@129mph with a 1.39 60ft.
Put a Dana 60 in over the winter, and did some jetting.
That is what the motor is doing. Good guessing everyone.

:burnout:

Now you're having fun! That's a good running combo.

Just a update on this motor it ran a [email protected] on Sunday the 13th of September

I did a freshen up over the winter new rings, bearings, timing chain, new valve springs, put in heavier ones in and new smith brothers push rods. Fresh valve job as well.

I don't want to be a party pooper but mid 11's is what I'd expect with that cam and compression...poor choice with that old 590/256 cam and using it with the rest of your hardware.
kinda like a $2.00 saddle on a $1000 horse. IMHO
[email protected] with that cam but its a ultradine.

Holy moly that thing is light!....Makes my car seem fat, lol. Nice job on the new best :)

The ET/MPH match up very close on the Moroso calculator.
Shows about 450HP for 2624lbs.
