I heard that there are a few different pumps that i could use on my 74 duster.
And that they work at different RPMs.

What one would you recommend for spirited driving/auto cross but also city parking.

I've never heard that certain ones were better for certain RPM.

The saginaw pumps are what you want for autocross/sprited driving. For your 73 up car they will have a square-ish looking tank on them.

What pump do you have on your car now???

What's wrong with it?

You can reseal it if it's just leaking. You'd need a power steering pulley puller.

You carefully chisel out the front seal, and install a new one by tapping it in with a socket just barely smaller diameter than the seal. Then unbolt the two bolts and the pressure fitting nut.

Then tap the edges of the can off carefully seperated the can from the pump. Brake clean out the inside of the can and pump. Then remove/replace the big O-ring around the pressure port and the small gaskets/rings around the two rear bolts and pressure fitting nut. Re-assemble.

Get a Factory Service Manual before doing any of this. And read it first.

Reseal kit is like $18-$25, IIRC.

If it is in working condition I would leave it alone. On my circle track racer I installed a power steering cooler on it as it used to get very hot after 25 hard laps. I found the cooler on a cop car.
