best year 360 to build

Rumor had it that the '71 360's (first year) were actually cast off the 340 molds and had thicker cylinder walls (for the larger 340 bore). But after that they're pretty much the same until the roller blocks came out. The roller would be the sweet setup to run, but if you're just going to run a regular hydraulic or solid cam then it really doesn't matter.
 
I have a complete 71 360 minus timing cover. I will take 300. It ran but mis fired when I took it out. Good for rebuild.

No, I say I'm going every year and I've made it once, 96' I think it was! there is a 78, 360 near me 69,000kms on it, out of a cordoba. Far less than a hemi! although I would like to do the hemi! Any members have other ideas? I just thought 360 would be plentiful and an easy build with lots of options to play with.
