I have an oil pan off an engine i was going to rebuild, but when i tore it down found it had a cracked block. I really need to find an engine to restart this project.

Any B or C body big block tranny will work. You can even use one from a 2 wheel drive truck if you change the tail housing. just stay away from a later model one with a lock up converter.
