Guys, I need a little help figuring out what I need to get in the way of gasket material for my tail light housings. I bought a paint gasket set from DMT a few months ago and I'm ready to start putting things back together. I can clearly see that there is some kind of black on the housing both on the lense side and the body side. I was told that I shouldn't worry about it and put the housings in without any extra adhesive, but I really don't want to get a bunch of water in them and have them not work in a few months. What do you guys use when reassembling tail lights? I threw in some pictures of the back of one of the housings to show the black stuff. Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like dum-dum to me. It is available at automotive paint stores and comes in 6 inch lengths on waxed paper in a box. Looks like you will need 2 strings per housing.
