I`ve found a short shaft fan clutch for use in my big block Barracuda, so I asked the guy at the auto parts store to see if he could hook me up with a matching fan blade and I got this. (see picture). Has anybody ever used one of these types of blades with their fan clutch and are there any advantages or disadvantages in using one. Thanks

YIKES! Ummmmmmm, never seen one like that. Whats wrong with OE?

The only fan clutch I could find to fit with the right bolt pattern ( I have 3.25" from water pump to radiator) is a Jaguar XJ6 unit and the pattern for the blade is different from Mopar.

I used the stock one from Mopar Performance with a 3 core radiator and it's so close that I have to put a piece of cardboard on the backside of the radiator and then slide the clutch unit on. Once the unit is mounted its only abouy 1/4" away from the radiator. From what I can tell Mopar didn't offer a viscous fan clutch on big block A body cars.

The new Mopar pieces have a thicker clutch and linger shaft on them making them sit closer to the radiator.

I believe they came along with the A/C package, so yes they are non-existant in A bodies. There is a short one made for B-bodies of the late 60`s era. They`re super rare and expensive so I went to the Jag clutch. I tried the Mopar clutch but it was too long. I`d like to get some sort of fan blade that resembles a factory Mopar piece. The clutch is a Hayden 2765.
