Blue Phoenix Ignition

No link no description no nuthin yet you want info? Never heard of it.

I built something very similar to that 15 years ago. My plugs would only last about 1000 miles, looked like they had 100,000. It might be OK for a race car.

A bunch of baggage goes along with it. Mine had a high voltage supply similar to an MSD CDI, with high voltage capactors at plugs. A conventional coil triggers initial spark, capacitor discharges plasma after that. A few other details left out. It makes a white fireball about 1/4" in diameter. Need welding glasses too. It is very loud, need hearing protection to be in same room, very annoying for testing.

I like coil on plug better.

575A is rediculous, I would think perhaps 5.75A peak is more realistic. I used a CT with burden to measure about 5A. A good conventional ignition has a spark current of 0.25A. 575A would light up solid plug wires.

If I find the time, I will dust off my unit and do a short youtube vid.

It appears to me to be another attempt to overcome common sense with flashy advertising and to convince you to buy something you don't need.

Looks like a great way to separate clueless tuner kids from their hard-earned money from their mall job. All sparks are "a plasma".
