Sure is a strange boy.

We have had him since he was a pup. Ernie found an ad in the paper for Redbone Coonhounds. We drove to the breeders small ranch by Oracle AZ. He had 2 litter of pups. We chose a pup from the other litter. When we were walking towards the truck this little pup started singing his heart out. Ernie and I just could not leave him......boy did we suckered in.
Blue appears to be very timid. His brother tries to bully him around and the result is always the same, Blue ends up kicking his butt. Have not had a serious fight since moving to WA, luckily. Anyway, Blue barks a bit. More like a lot. He hears Ernie moving around in bed in the morning and he sings to her. I give them carrots and snap peas mixed in with there dog food. I also throw them some as I am putting them in the bowls. He does not know how to catch them. He will get lucky every now and then but normally they bounce off of his head. And after they bounce off, if they end up under the table or what have you he just stands there. We make them sit for a count of ten before putting the bowl down. Blue, ever defiant, will not sit with the others. He stands there barking. After he sees the others eating he will then give in and sit, still barking. We go outside to throw a ball or Frisbee. Blue does not chase it. He will chase the other dog who has the ball, barking the entire time he is running. Throw the ball at him and it just bounces off of his head. Does not even make an attempt at catching it. He will be eating and start barking with his mouth full of food. He will often stand in the middle of the yard, frozen in time, for 15 or so minutes, just standing motionless. He does not run, more like shuffles. We will be sitting here watching tv and Blue will often come up and sit in front of me. As long as I do not make eye contact he will just sit there. If I make eye contact with him, he will then come over and put his foot on me. And just stand there with his foot on me. I go out to get the paper in the morning. A neighbor will go get it form where it is dropped off, 1.5 miles from here and put it in a bucket that we have by the fence. The bucket is a couple hundred feet from the house. Blue will go out the front door, stand there for a second and then shuffle his way to the back of the house and go back inside. As I am typing this he is laying in front of me, just staring at me. Strange boy he is.....

I said this the last time you posted this pic, but that is awesome! That is one of the best dog pics I have ever seen. I'm not sure what the look is that he is giving, but it could be one of many. "Damn I'm handsome" comes to mind! Or possibly "Back off". Anyway, good looking dog and great picture!

Sounds like Blue has his own way of doing things! I like a dog with some personality.

Are Lab will come to me when I'm sitting in my chair and lay her head in my lap. And if I make eye contact and start petting her she will try and get up in the chair with me.

He's prolly sittin' there thinkin' "Doug sure is a strange boy!!" LOL
