I just took the fenders off my 71 Swinger and am trying to decide the best way to store them out of the way while I work on the resto.

Anyone out there have some creative ways of getting large body panels like fenders, hood, doors, etc. out of the way? I have a two-car garage of dedicated space, but space is still a premium and I need to be able to move around the car freely.

Thanks in advance!

I use small C clamps, coat hanger wire, whatever, to hang parts from the rafters.

Get some of those large rubber coated bicycle hooks with the screw ends.
I have some fenders hanging on those, large enough to hold them and the rubber doesn't scratch the paint.

If you live in Florida like I do, putting it any place other then an air conditioned house is a rust collector. I stored all my Dart parts in one of our bedrooms, after they were cleaned. However, not everyone has the option of doing that. No kids living at home.

You could build a rack.

I went out to Lowes and bought some of those hanging wire racks the sell that hang from the rof joist. Then I put them up over the door since it is dead space anyway when the door is up. I have my fenders, ect all up there and completely out of the way. It makes good use of the dead space most people do not think of using. This is similair to what I am using.
