There seems to be a problem with people selling parts and getting contacted by a buyer and then going back on what they said. Recently I contacted 71Demonology and requested to buy his rallye wheels. He then contacted me back and said he would send pics and a shipping estimate. I responded back and asked some general questions about the wheels. The next response I got from him was not a happy one. He told me that he gave them to his buddy and my jaw hit the floor. This childish crap has got to stop. Between the COMPLETE 8 3/4 rearend for sale and many others. It is getting out of hand. If you want a bad reputation keep on doing what you are doing and see if anyone ever buys anything from you again because your word is worth S#!T

Its happened to me. I found out when i found it listed on Ebay. No need to get mad it ain't worth it. It just shows ya what kind of people they are.:thumbdow:

He was asking questions about the wheels I could not answer. i.e. how they were widened, backspacing. He had never gotten a picture of them due to the fact i didn't want to send these things out there with bad info and getting another great response like this one. It happens man. I didn't want to screw you and in return get screwed out of paying for the shipping back to me and probably your shipping out there. My buddy has a dart he wanted to try them on. Sorry I know him personally. It was easier for me to give them to him then collect 70 bucks from you. Immature... sure, but it was for the better. You would have gotten a pair of rear wheels you would not have been able to match to another set. I did not have them widened, so I had no idea if they were out of round. I should have added this in the e-mail to you, but here you go. Eveyone can see. I will be more informative on my decisions that affect other people for now on. Sorry

What's New :argue: :boxing: Pretty sad and pretty soon we'll have a zillion E-bay rules. I think a buyer should be able to change his mind until cash has change hands. To me it dosn't look good for the other party to drop out after someone says I'll take it. Even if it was to a personnal friend....because were suppose to be brothers here first right!.... Do I just say all that :silent:

When buying a item from some one you have to find out 1) where you are on the list of people wanting the item.2)Does this person know what to look for when asking them a question?,If not,you could be getting swamp land or junk or a jewel, without the seller knowing what it is.If its a simple item and the person can not really tell you what the specs are,try to work with them to do the deal,if you have tried many attempts to work with a person and in the end they are on the same level as a rock, fulsh the deal and move on,you where probably going to get screwed any ways. You have to insists on pics and be willing to help to make this work for your self.Problem is,some on this and other sites have 25,30,35 years of doing this and others are just getting out of the starting gate and do not the years of experience of others. When doing a deal, make sure you get a firm commitment from the seller to deal with you and you only,Mrmopartech

well I guess I should'nt have counted my chickens too soon. I should have figured that some people can't do buisness. When you tell someone you are getting pics and a shipping quote, what the hell does it mean? hmmmmm....

ok when i bought the duster he had a pair of 15X8 ?ralleyes? (how do you spell that correctly) for the rear. I am going to go get tires on them tomorrow. If anyone has some 15X7 Small Bolt ralleyes they would be willing to sell, i would be glad to take them off your hands. As long as they are clean/ no rust and decent for a driver. i have been searching e-bay and looking around lately and can't find any. any help would be mucho appreciato!

here is the email I got:

i think they were cut down the middle had a strip added and re-welded... UPS didn't leve my wheels today so i will get them tomorrow. it will probably be wed before i get a shipped price for you. gimme tomorrow to get a pic for you.

Try Whiteyswheels in Va., they run ads on Ebay all the time. I recently saw a pair of 15 x 7 SBP rallye wheels in one of their listings.

I think someone needs to stop crying. If it were me, I would have rather given them to my friend rather than go through the trouble of packing them up and finding a shipping quote, only to what gain a couple bucks. Not worth it to me. Just keep lookin. I'm sure you'll find some.

Summit has the wheels you are looking for, not too bad of a price either. They carry both smalland large bolt pattern, they are powder coated, you are guaranteed they will be the right size and you can return them easy if they wont work. I just bought 2 14x6 rallayes for the front of my Swinger, and what they will end up costing after sand blasting and powder coating, I should have just got them from Summit. Oh well, a mistake made is a lesson learned I guess. Ill be buying my 15x8s for the rear from Summit.

........and then there's the guy's who post a "Parts Wanted" ad for something that you happen to have. You go get your camera, go out to the garage and find the part, you snap some good clear nice pics, then size them down and turn them into jpg, sit down and write a reply to the ad WITH good pics and a fair and reasonable price for the part including shipping to their zip code............

Then usually one of two things happen.............You either hear absolutely nothing from them.............OR, they shoot you back an offer that in effect means they'll pay the shipping if you give them the part for free. They need to stop and consider how much it would cost them in time, phone calls, gas money, and inconvenience to hunt and track down then go get the part on their own vs. what the price is shipped to their door.

Don't get me wrong....there are some good people out there who are good to deal with and have courtesy and respect. Then there's the people who practically beg you for the parts at "Dollar General Store" prices just so they can throw it up on Ebay for God-Knows-How-Much.

It's getting pretty easy for me to tell who is which these days...............

I keep a list of every transaction I have ever done, repeat buyers/sellers get first priority because I know they follow thru with what they say. First timers are on my "one transaction probationary period". I'm sorry it has to be that way, but I'm not going to let myself be put into a position where I get screwed over. A deal is only a deal when BOTH parties are happy.

Most members on this site have their heads on their shoulders. I've been with the site for a while now and have only noticed a few problems in the past few weeks, that's pretty good odds. (And most guys have replyed that their happy with their parts). I have noticed, some guys "just" join the site to sale parts without even saying hi, but still that's fine. We all need parts now or then. :notworth:

try wheel vintiqes they are in the back of the summit catalog better to get new for a few nore bucks than get some ones headaches also try mcg they have a large section of parts for sale hope this helps

Dont list things for sale if you dont fully intend to go through with the sale. People may decide not to buy another item because they are buying it from you - and if you back out, they may not be able to the item from the original seller. This has happened to me on Ebay and it pisses me off to no end.

Be thourough, honest and accurate in your descriptions as well.
