I just want to let my fellow racers and Mopar owners know that Braille presently has a deal on their i35X lithium battery. 599 instead of 899! 10 pounds! It would of course require a lithium specific charger which is an additional 150 bucks. I don't like the ah rating of the battery but I've decided I will use my 31 T5 (55 #s) to run the fans and waterpump after my run in the pit. 45 pounds is a great weight reduction. My lead acid 31 series is 5 years old now and "seems" fine but I know Im on borrowed time. I charge it every time I come back from the track but Im just concerned about its age. Winch 24DCM is also 5 now. I figure I'll lug the 31 series battery to the track and using some type of quick connect setup up front by the relays, feed the w/p and fans. The i35X has big cranking amps and will put out until 99% discharged. Multiple charge times available and 3 to 5 times the life of a lead acid battery.
It was time to get a battery and a 10 pound Braille sounds awesome. Hopefully it will work as well as I expect. Time will tell!

My 17 pound version, wouldn't keep up with my `cuda. After an hour of driving my car...it wouldn't start. My friend ended up with two in his pro-streeter.

We use my 17-lb unit for testing stuff and running pumps and other temporary stuff.

I have a powermaster 8142 (180 amp?) alternator that puts out 80 amps at idle. I SHOULD be able to keep the battery charged. When I get back to the trailer I usually run the fans and waterpump for like 4 to 5 minutes. Im going to use my old 31 series battery to run the fans/waterpump between rounds so that the starting battery stays charged.

Sometimes, it's the battery. The `cuda has a 6.4 with a new Chrysler, 2019 alternator for a Charger. It has plenty of juice. The battery didn't have the storage capacity to keep up. It was apparently running on the alternator.

Here's the actual link to that deal.

Braille Intensity i35X Lithium Battery

Just a follow up. I went to the track. The battery gave me all 20 starts I asked of it. Ran my accessories while the alternator was charging. When home the lithium charger showed more than 80% charged and was completely charged in 2 and a half hours.
Now I don't know if its battery related but the car picked up 2 mph! MSD 7 maybe liked the 14 volts and the weight loss of 46 pounds certainly didn't hurt.
