Brainstormin' 440 vs 5.9 ...

I really don’t know how accurate the math is but it should be in the ball park at least. Sometimes things especially engines punch above their weight class (big fat torque curve)
Dan
I liked it because you thought about it. When it comes to this stuff, my math is more of a "reasoning". Kind of goofy actually. Although we are all taking "pot-shots", I still used a form of reasoning to come to my conclusion. But I could be way off as the next guy... lol

We've seen what you can do with a 318...No sandbagging...

This is the intake I'm referring to, Mine was on a '76 440 I put in a '73 Satellite, in place of the 'teener. I "fixed" #3 runner by outwelding it & grinding all the way into the weld, even re-formed a new '3', ...
440 source doesn't show an 'RV-specific' 440 intake, only the square-bore 413 ones with closed EGR passages.

Well, we’re coming up on the first day of winter. Hopefully the weather will break some between squalls so we can see some testing in “Mexico” before spring, but I’m not going to hold my breath on that one…

Nice.

To me Dyno = Potential, Track = How well that potential is being used.
true... to a point. I will say, that wallace is supposed to be "at the crank" - not the tire. So WEIGHT X MPH is supposed to get you close to actual HP. When the MPH comes up a 50 or more HP short, well, to me it's a case of the dyno not showing up at the track. And really, not trying to turn this into a Dyno thread but just addressing all the different dyno videos that have been presented to me from various ways about what I can expect from the RV 440

It seems logical that the “water brake” doesn’t duplicate track “load” that the vehicles performance dictates.

I just find it funny how a Calculated hp results are held in a higher regard than a dyno's measurement.

What we do know is some have found some pretty notable differences in the measurements from dyno to dyno. That doesn't happen with Wallace

I'd like to point out, that I didn't pick a number, I said it would be AT LEAST a half second slower than the 5.9. Thank you.
Alrighty! We’ll get you down for 13.30 with a gear that works. Taking a dive to the lower end of the spectrum!
