I think the dyno vs the track would be a good thread, i have not had my engines on the dyno, but i am sure they don't make as much HP as you would think to the run the ET that they do. is it car set up? or convertor?

How much HP does a 318 need to make to run high 11's in the 1/4 mile?

I have both. Wintertime the wheel dyno is shut down.

There was some testing I wanted to do on the wheel dyno the we never got to do.

One was I wanted to take an engine off the engine dyno (which we didn’t have so that was an outsource expense) that was as close as it could be like it’s in the car and then put it on the wheel dyno.

No one wanted to pay for that.

The other one (more than just one) was I wanted to start playing with tire stagger.

IIRC some of the cars around there were running what I thought was a bunch of stagger. So I wanted to see if that would influence the numbers.

But no one wanted to bring in all the tire combos and do all the work of swapping stuff around.

I even offered to do it on a weekend for half price and I’d work for free.

I still had no takers.

The weight at the start line and MPH will get you very close

I’m in the shop now buttoning up some stuff.

I’ll post a picture or two and then tell everyone how worthless Holley really is these days.

I burned up several hours Friday thinking I had a bad cooling hose when in fact it was Holley garbage I did not catch.

I have pictures of that too.
