My budget is tight . And not looking or big performance gains ( driver/ cruiser. ) With that said. What camshft would help my 5.2 magnum to get more low end power , and with possibly keeping the stock valve springs, ( or if needed to change springs " I don't want them to require machine work to fit" I will aso be using my stock converter. I don't need a loopy idle smooth idle is fine and good vac for power brake.

Cheaply done? Run a LA cam and do the math on the new lift.
The cam specs I can write about later when I’m home. BUT! A duration of not more than 218 with a stock converter and a smooth idle is a wider LSA like a 112, but it’s a low end power looser.
A tighter one makes more torque but less vacuum.

What gear ratio and tire size are you running?

The 360 LA hydraulic roller cam makes great off idle torque and decent midrange power in a 5.2 magnum. Add a speedmaster, etc. “china gap” intake with a 650 AVS2 and a good distributor curve. Magnum manifolds are good enough, but it responds very well to headers and good exhaust.

x2 on the LA roller cam- and the 318 version, believe it or not, is a little hotter than the 360. Go figure. Plus you have the Magnum rocker ratio working in your favor.
I run the LA318 roller cam in the 5.9 Magnum that I swapped into my '88 Dakota. No special valvetrain/spring requirements. Nice rumble at idle, but no "lope". Pulls strong, excellent street manners. Not a racecar but has no problem defending her honor when called upon to do so, within reason.
And as far as budget goes, used ones can be had for a song or a six-pack.

This sounds like a plan I can work with.

I like this, now to find a used cam. What years would be in the correct range ? I like the idea of stock springs etc

Any idea of the specs on this cam ??

Factory specs from Larry Shepherd. According to Ken at Oregon Cam Grinders, there are more variants of these. Some are on a 115 or wider LSA. I’ve came across one that measures .276 lift intake and exhaust.
