I keep wanting a gear drive, but the price goes up every damn day it seemsJust the good timing cover from AR Engineering.
AgreedI was going to go gear drive, but the price made me stay with a double roller timing chain and gear set too!

Yes, at the time when I pulled the trigger on buying my parts that was all I could budget, but like I always do...I'll buy a melonized gear and keep the bronze for something else I may or may not build lol.I skipped the middle pages/posts , you guys do know there are melonized dist. gears for roller cams , Hughs engines had them first (I think) , I`ve been running one for about 12ish yrs. or more in my 505....no need for a bronze gear that might wear quickly. Altho we had a bronze gear in the old hemi car ,and experienced no wear with it ...
you could change the location of the oil line into the oil pump too.I thought of that but then I will need a different radiator too.
If you know your going to end up buying the Meziere pump, may as well try and cut your existing water pump like you said cause if it gets messed up or doesn’t work, you already planned on buying the meziereI am trying to run a dual line pickup using one pump port and one block port. May have to pony up for the Meiziere pump or cut and weld my current aluminum housing to make it a 45 degree instead of a straight fitting?
