I want to convert my deadhead system to a bypass regulator aand return line for all the benefits. My concern is with my fuel cell. the return fuel will go in the top fitting next to the vent, fuel exits from the bottom sump. tank is an 8 gallon RCI. Will I need a down tube to prevent aeration, or air and turbulance as the fuel splashes with its return? and if one is needed, does it have to be aluminum/or stainless, or can it be hose of some kind.

Interesting question..... seems like the air bubbles would not last long. But if you added a down hose, there are a lot of fuel resistant clear vinyl hoses around. My one concern would be if you are using some potent fuel mix; they can be hard on everything. But rubber flaps are used as crude check valves in fuel cells and they survive OK.
