I bought a 71 340 without heads I have a set of 69 x heads for it its 40 over and the cam has an orange mark on it and the stamp looks like c3 over cwc ont the timing gear end on back end the numbers 3320 d and on that end is a stamp on the shaft f2 and 180 from that is 17 can anyone help me out here.

Aftermarket cam grinders will stamp the front of the cam with a part number..grind number...lobe number.....

oem manufacturer...will put a dap of paint...or a stamp a couple of number....

if it is in the engine..put a degree wheel on crank...dial indicator on the cam...check the cam lift...and .050 lift opening and closing to get duration
