Cam recommended?..

Displacement has plenty to do with duration. Greater vacuum [ or suction ] is created by larger displacement which pulls more weight of air into the cyl.
As already prescribed, the 270S is a great choice by the OP. This cam was originally marketed as a 'variable' duration cam; the seat duration can be varied 10* because the range of valve lash is 0.015-0.030". So some built-in tuning flexibility.
Stroke. yes Displacement. no
A longer stroke handles more cam duration.
A big bore short stroke will be less efficient with a long duration cam.

Please define what you believe a "long duration" is.
Give us a range in degrees of crank rotation

LOL... I think it's funny how we are trying to see how much duration we can stuff in a Club Cab 4x4, beast of a truck that will never be raced, but will haul loads and pull a car trailer, have tall tires and lifted, ..... LOL. Only on FABO.

LOL yea that's one of those choices when you pick the cam you think you want, go one step lower.
I wouldn't want to be pushing j par up the mountain with my 73 W200 360. lol

No I'm not quite sure I'll be pulling trailers or hauling loads with this truck. I'm teetering on keeping my 98 around for stuff like that... It definitely will have AC...
Put on the other hand it may be a tick of a hot rod as well... But I don't want it to be loud whatsoever as a matter of fact the more quiet the better.. well it will have headers and dual exhaust it will have some quiet mufflers..
LOL I want to run a stock heavy duty converter, lots of low end power, rev up to 5500 with lots of pull, and oh yeah be good on gas as well LOL...

No it is displacement, not stroke. Try putting the 284 Purple cam from a 440 into a 225 slant six. The slant has almost 1/2" more stroke, but that cam will idle a lot rougher in the slant than it will in the 440. Which is why the MP cams for the slant have advertised durations in the range of 244 up to 284, while the BB cams go from 268 to 324. The rod stroke ratio is what has some impact [ after displacement ] on idle quality, not stroke.
