I have a new cam installed and I want to install my timming set, but theres not key on the new camshaft, what do I do? Can i use the woodruff keys from dorman? or what is needed, thanks

yes,,,get a key from the local parts store....

bought a couple the last time ....maybe a 1.50 part....

It has to be a snug fit in the cam. There cam be NO slop. I usually take the old one out of the old cam... It should just pop out if you take a small screwdriver and hammer and tap under the front edge.

I found a key that fit in and needed to be taped in, is there a way to make sure its all the way in with out it tilting?

If it is a little low in the front it will level under the cam spocket.

I had to tap mine in too. The cam gear should slide on firmly with no slack.

test fit the cam gear before u install the cam in the engine...
