I wish I had one as good to start with, when I did mine it was rough.
here mine. wish the whole car was done so I could go Driving!

before "fixin". I wanted to take a hammer to if for a while. it was a pain getting everything held together correctly.

    Looks amazing :)

I bought the kit to fix my steering wheel years ago.... still haven't dared to touch it LOL. I guess it'll make a good project for me over the winter. Just out of curiosity, what type of paint should I use and do you just clear coat it when its done?

Yours looks great 66Dvert :thumleft: I about fell out when I seen what you started with :blob: that had to be a time consuming job of love :thumleft:
and yes I have a center horn cap.

She will won't she Keith :D
And today is the day I fit it on her finger :thumleft: Thank you Keith, Pete did an amazing job

Good morning Geof :coffee2: I bet you can imagine what I felt when I opened the box and seen this great work of art FISHYPETE did to Victoria's
Wheel (ring) my living room turned golden :glasses7:

I believe it was painted with base coat then clear coat to match my car, and 66340SEDAN's car is the same color inside as mine, Keith has a monster engine in his 66 Valiant sedan so his car is my car (Victoria) big brother :thumleft:

Know after I get limbered up I will go put it on

Here is the one Pete did for me, it was a birthday gift :D It is also the same color as Memikes wheel :glasses7:

Couple "before" pics first...I used a different wheel that I bought here on FABO, wish I had taken pics before dad started on it, but these were after he started working on it and had already filled in some cracks.

    BTW 66Dvert, nice job! :thumleft:

Wow great work here! Looks awesome. I would have never thought that they could be fixed so nice after brakes like that. But I should never be surprised at the skills of our fabo family.

I glass beaded mine first and the used the 2 part epoxie to fill in the missing pieces.(lots of sanding involved) after that I hit it with Bulldog Adhesion Promoter(makes paint stick real good!) then epoxy sealer. high build primer and then paint "n" clear coat.
took a while to do but it'll stay on the wheel for a while. I bough one from a member on here that's going on the wife's car. some of the finger grips are gone worse than mine was but overall in a lot better shape then the one pictured above. that ones gotta be perfect since I'm going to do it it blue metal flake (97 neon pain color) to match the wife's car's eventual color.

thanks it been a few years since I have done one and I forgot how much work it'd take.

looks like you've got your self a tough one to do too! those hairline craks are really gonna be harder than the big breaks (mine were) I V'd and undercut mine a lot deeper and it made the job easier, plus it seemed to hold in those small cracks better. that other wheel looks GOOD also. dang I like that metallic brown. what color was that?
