Maybe I'm venting a little here but also looking for a pic of an original "Duster" inner door emblem...

I just purchased said emblems they are OER inc. Mopar authentic restoration piece at $30 each.

http://www.classicindustries.com/product/mopar/a-body-duster/parts/3499375.html

My issue is for $30 I Don't believe they are very authentic, on the websites pic it "appears" to have both ribbed outlines painted(at least when you click to enlarge emblem pic) yet in my pic you see it is not(lower emblem) also the word "duster" is (poorly) painted silver yet in a lot of pics on the net it seems it is painted white in the center.

Does anyone have a pic of an original to tell if the outer is suppose to be painted or not and what color the word Duster should be?

The emblem in the top of the pic is a Mr. G's emblem that I purchased in the late 90's where they would chrome it then paint over needed areas at the time that was the best I could could come up with since mine were complete toast so now the OER piece comes out and I figure the correct grain is there and you won't have the paint brush marks there it will look a little better.

If you are going to repop something and charge good money repop correctly Please.

I feel your pain. It seems like everything you buy is garbage now a days. Put a 65 dart together for my wife to race. the new line lock dont work, the water pump electric motor lasted 3 passes and the shift light worked once. In the past 2 years I probably took 5 grand and flushed down the toilet due to garbage parts.

The original one that I have is pretty worn. The infill on the Duster script appears to be silver, and neither of the outer ribs is painted. But that may have just worn off. I have a handful of Demon emblems, a couple have both ribs painted, a couple have neither. Again, hard to tell if it was worn off, or never there to begin with.

Haven't seen one with just the inner rib painted, all the ones I can recall either had both painted, or neither painted. And there's always the possibility that they were painted differently for different years or for different levels of interior trim.

Here's a bunch of original looking ones from eBay...

The two outward lines should both be silver plastic chrome, the word Duster should be white and the edging of the word Duster Chrome silver.

Source on the chrome info?

I have never seen the outer ribs in any kind of chrome. Silver or white yes, but never chrome. Not saying it wasn't, I've just never seen it.

Seems all of the Ebay links supplied by 72bluNblu have emblems that have or show evidence of both ribs along with the outer edges of "Duster" being painted silver and white inside of the word Duster.

A little closer look at the Classic website link seems to show white inside Duster(if I am seeing that right) yet that's Not what I received and at $30 each OER should be able to produce a better piece, I had a conversation with the gentleman at B/E & A restoration about the poor quality of a rallye dash bezel I had purchased at another site and he commented that companies who repop get lazy after a while and start sending low quality stuff

BLAH!!!! to further confuse things I just dug up my original off the car and it appears to be silver in the middle of Duster

I think maybe the way the lighting is in each picture plays out differently

Your value of thirty dollars and quality products might be dated to when Americans created products and the dollar traveled further.

Groceries cost twice as much for me as they did on my last shore duty (05-08).
