Car Shows

-
Even the classic car dealer in the north end of St.charles stopped having car shows and they had a great turn out. As far as I know there's only a few places in St.Charles that still have them. I did see that there's supposedly a car show here in town at the Elks lodge first one that they have had in a few years and I'm going to it. There's a big show at the lake of the Ozarks every May but I'm not driving 2 and half hours.
You’re not driving 2-1/2 hours? Why not? That’s part of the joy of owning a cool old car……….driving it!
In October I’ll be driving my D100 468 miles, So Cal to Tucson, takes us about 7-8 hours. Then back. Because it’s fun.

exactly this, times eleventy billion.

why'd you drive your old car alllll the way to [place]? because it was there and i could... that's why.

i find there's generally a hard line in the sand between the "lawn chairs and trophies" crowd and the "lets heat up a credit card at the gas station and go get some crepes at this cafe way out in BFE" crowds.

for the record, neither is right or wrong. just different.

Once I get the car then I will.

By the same token, the people that own the cars now could take them to a show.
I've taken one car to a show. Ever. I'd rather show my car at the dragway.. .my kind of show, watch em go! !LOL... or just take my wife for a cruise and find some food. Personally, I"m not a big car show person at all. I almost NEVER go out of my way to swing by a car show, unless it's a swap meet also.

Yes, drive them! We forget the shows.... we don't drive any of our classics for anyone to say "ahhhh... or ooooohhh". We drive them 100% for us. Going many of miles away from home...

We need a “love” button. “Like” doesn’t do this post justice.

Wentzville has two big cruises every summer, I like car shows to meet other people.

That's the plan

More car shows and cars and coffee meets these days in my area that I can remember. Every weekend and most week nights between June and Oct. Certainly can't go to them all and have to pick and choose. One thing I have noticed though for other than the large established annual meets, you need to be plugged into FB or other social media to know about many of them.

Around me a lot of churches and fire houses have car shows as fund raisers. Then we have speed shops, ice cream places, many other types of businesses etc that have shows. Then Cars and Coffees all over the place where I live. One show is every third friday of month they pull in 700-1000 cars if weather good and majority are classic muscle cars.

That's awesome. I don't think that any show that I've been to had more than 500 car's. The hobby doesn't seem to be real catching around my area for some reason.

The no prep drag racing scene in Missouri is kickin like chickin

Sometimes the best car show is a show of 1 a cool summer night sublime paint and cragars flashing off the street lights with a 285 duration camshaft ground on a 106 centerline pounding beautifully through a 3 in exhaust twin 3-in turbos barely taming the angry small block. fed by a feast of 3 holly 2300 two barrel HP,s on a TA manifold kings and queens step aside the show is coming through LOL too much?

I bet it is. Missouri hosts a ton of car events. To be perfectly honest, it's much easier to be aware of the circles if you are part of the circles. Car cruises are very popular right now with local guys. I don't participate because i like to go with just my wife and only our decisions matter. Stop where we want, eat where we want, etc... ... little selfish, i know, but it's how it is... lol

I think that you should change your username from 340six to Mrs Negative
Let's see. Dan makes countless post about cars he is getting. Don't get any of them now careless Dan complains about others who do have car's about how they do or don't use them.
Carry on.

You laugh, but you never know. We all use to meet at White Castle and steak n shake. Those were the good old days.
Prove it. I forgot there were no cameras. Remember you always demanding others Prove stuff. Put up or.

Here I found a picture of a White Castle in Missouri and I’m guessing that’s more than you’re ever going to see out of Dan.

Proof that there is in fact…..wait for it…..

A White Castle.
