Hello,
I am looking for some help in identifying the plastic piece in the attached photograph. The car I’m working on is a ‘67 Barracuda notchback. I first saw the piece when I removed the center carb’s float bowl on my 408-stroker six pack to do a jet change, my first time pulling it off the manifold. During the same time period I had previously removed the rear and front carburetors. When I went to bolt the center carb’s float bowl back on I looked down and saw the piece in the attached photograph, it was on the manifold in the cavity between the front and center carb mounting bases. The black plastic piece in the picture doesn’t look familiar to me and the holes in the piece don’t line up with anything on the carburetors. I don’t remember it being on any of the three carbs but there it lay, on the manifold. Maybe it fell off one of the carbs, likely the center carb? Was it inside the float bowl of the center carb? Maybe it fell off a tool? Maybe it is from somewhere else in the engine bay and somehow the radiator’s fan blew the piece there. I don’t see how it could have been there prior to me removing the carbs, it seems unlikely it could remain there while driving the car. If anyone knows what this is please tell me. Thanks for your help.

Thank you! How does it attach, is it on the outside of the bowl?

I see, now that you tell me I have a faint memory of that piece on other carbs when I have made jet, power valve, or metering block changes. Or, I’m completely fabricating this picture in my head. Thank you!!
