Is that 1906 a 500 or 650 cfm. I am not surewhat's with the paint all over everything?
that 1906 is fine for the motor, despite what some persons may say. a benefit is that there is tons of info and tuning guides for these online.
2nd question, how's the fuel filter look?
650 amigo.Is that 1906 a 500 or 650 cfm. I am not sure
Thank you650 amigo.
Should it have 500 on itThank you
I think he was in Arizona in AF. Met his wife in Vegas. When he got out of AF they married and are in New Mexico. Tomorrow depending on temp around here I will change gas filter and then drive it. See what happensIf it does it more on a warm day I'd suspect percolation, but if it does it all the time then it likely isn't. The hill will just make things hotter, but it sounds like fuel delivery of some kind.
If you can you mount a fuel pressure gauge visible above the hood, if even temporarily, you could find out quickly.
Hey that is cool, 67's are one of my favorite A bodies. We've got a pretty large air force base here, Kirtland, in addition to Sandia Labs. Your grandson could do the paint if he wanted to, if he can do everything else it's not that big of a deal. Some AF bases have paint booths you can use for free.
Blow through with your mouth, and/or cut it open, too.I think he was in Arizona in AF. Met his wife in Vegas. When he got out of AF they married and are in New Mexico. Tomorrow depending on temp around here I will change gas filter and then drive it. See what happens
Car only ever gets real gas. Non ethanolBased on how my 340 ran out of fuel in second gear at Bandimere with current fuel, I would focus on making sure that the fuel delivers system from pickup to filter is free flowing and the pump makes 5-6 PSI reliable. Modern gas has higher vapor pressure than desired due to ethanol content. Make sure fuel lines near heat sources are at least not close to the source or are insulted. A simple length of fuel line tubing slipped over the steel line should suffice.
My dad use to walk uphill in the morning to go to school and walk, uphill home. That is my thought exactly. But I live in the mountains
Ok. Next. step is the carb is off. I bought a new filter which is not on yet. I took it to one of the best carb guys in my area. His name is Phillipy and he was a carb guy for Joe Gibbs when Nascar ran carburetor. All the drag and circle track guys around here and from down south use him. He said the inside of carb is extremely clean. The floats were very good setting at normal run but we're kinda high at wot. I hope I got that right??? He said the issue almost sounds like ignition issue. He is putting it back together tomorrow and I can install it and test it. After he tests it tomorrowCar only ever gets real gas. Non ethanol
Lol. Actually my walk to Reading high school was uphill over half the way there . Total walk was close to 1.7 miles and rule was ar 2 miles you could get a city bus. DamnMy dad use to walk uphill in the morning to go to school and walk, uphill home.
I call that "Vapor Lock" ethanol with winterize fuel is even worse. The problem is our older motor driven fuel pumps draw from the tank and a vapor in the line due to heat will stop the draw, until cooled. The fuel pumps in the tanks on newer car push the fuel to the motor, so you get no vapor interference. An electric pump down by the tank will help in this. I installed one on my van, as a backup pump, years ago. As some here mentioned, I would check the floats, or install another carb, as for the same check. Had a Holley once that I would drain the bowels dry when I hammered down on my 340. Just a little adjustment did the trick. Not too much or you will overflow out the vent.Based on how my 340 ran out of fuel in second gear at Bandimere with current fuel, I would focus on making sure that the fuel delivers system from pickup to filter is free flowing and the pump makes 5-6 PSI reliable. That's funny, where we live my kids could have gotten the bus to HS if we lived on the other side of a street that was 5 houses from our street.Lol. Really stupid. But I guess there has to be a limit somewhereThat's funny, where we live my kids could have gotten the bus to HS if we lived on the other side of a street that was 5 houses from our street.
