Carpet question

Hey guys was just wondering if any of you know how to dye interior carpet? My carpet is in perfect shape but it is sun bleached it's black but the sun took it's tol on it...and seeing that im out of funds i was just wondering if there's a way i could dye it back to black? I thought about using rit dye but it says not to use on polyester and i think the carpet my be made of that but im not shure. So any sugestions would help.

SEM products dye will work it but it takes a good bit to cover. Then the fibers will feel like steel wool. Some of the cheap pink colored liquid fabric softener mixed 50/50 with water in a pump spray bottle. Spray it on, Brush it in.

I have used Krylon (semi-gloss black) for touching up black carpet for 25 years. Works great and costs $4.

But does the paint make it feel like its coated in plastic?
