I’m looking for a refurbished to factory specs carter 1bbl for my 1965 valiant

I so tired of screwing around with these old POS carbs I have.

does anybody here do quality work refurbishing these carbs or know a reputable place/ person who does?

I moved to a weber 2 barrel
Saved a lot of trouble
Only issue is kickdown
Probably go with a Lowcar cable set up

That’s pretty sweet, is that a Holley progressive?

I just need something to get me through the summer, this winter the car is coming apart for paint/ interior/ top/ v8 and 4 speed. I’ve rebuilt the carb and messed with it so much I’m just over it. I just want to drive the damn thing!

I found a good carb guy and he rebuilt my 1bbl carb off my 69. It would have been cheaper to get a new one, but it was only 300 bucks to rebuild it. He does test his rebuilds on a motor

I have a Carter carb for a slant 6 for 62-63. It looks to be in very good shape and appears to have been rebuilt. It has never been used and was supposedly on the shelf of a parts house when I bought it. I still have the original description from when I purchased it. Its been sitting on my shelf waiting for a good home.

I did not use it because I had my original Holley rebuilt to keep the engine original on my 63 Valiant.

Thank you for the response. I took mine apart and the throttle shaft was like .005” big
I checked my other two and they were the same. I got out some brass and my chucking reamers and was going to machine some new bushing and attempt to repair it then I checked e-bay and one had come up for sale that had been already rebuilt.
I bolted it on yesterday and drove out to firebird raceway to watch the test and tune and the car ran perfect!
Thank you again!
