Bosco Joe,

I'm not an expert on the Pontiac GTO 'Tri-Power' Carburetors.

The Rochester 2-Barrels with the 1 1/4" Flange-Base and 1 7/16" Throttle-Bore sizes with the following Venturi size;
* 1 3/32" ..... 278 CFM

The Rochester 2-Barrels with the 1 1/2" Flange-Base and 1 11/16" Throttle-Bore sizes were rated as such with the following Venturi size;
* 1 3/16" .... 249 CFM
* 1 1/4" ...... 269 CFM
* 1 5/16" .... 299 CFM
* 1 3/8" ...... 308 CFM

By most calculations, the 1964 and 1965 ~ 389 'Tri-Power' combinations
were rated at 767 CFM's.

The 1966 - 'Tri-Power' combinations were rated at 836 CFM's.

Pelican-Man,

I'll post that information. Very surprisingly, but the Rambler 290/225 HP
had a larger CFM-rated Carter AFB Carburetor than the Mopar 273/235 HP.

Carter AFB Carburetor

1967 Rambler 290/225 HP

#4252S
Factory listed rating @ 570 CFM's

Throttle Body Sizes ...... 1 7/16" x 1 11/16"
Venturi Sizes ............... 1.062" x 1.562"

A large Secondary Venturi.

Rambler stated in the 'Brochure Specification Sheet'.

The 'high-flowing' Carter AFB {570 CFM's} on the 290/225 HP 'N-Code'
Rambler out-performs the 'smaller' Carter AFB found on the Plymouth and Dodge - 273 High-Performance engines.

Anybody know the metering rod size for the 3854S? This thread includes all specs except for that one :). Thanks!
