By the way Uncle Sugar, Were going to have a couple of hickups in the works if you think you can come and take em too! You got 4 years, 35 years of 30% of my income, and my job went who knows where you sent it.

The gov't cant get a dime without taking it from someone else first and that means we get to pay for every program whether we want it or not. I would rather be able to keep more of the money I make and decide how I GET TO SPEND IT!! I'm glad to hear so many of you guys are on to this BS!!! Not that I'm Joe finance or better than anyone, but it still makes me feel good I'm not alone in my thinking.

Many people still seem to be crying out for socialism based on the increse in gov't spending. I live in CA and we're broke! No dinero! Nada!! But still seem to have plenty of money for gov't programs. Why does there seem to be a never ending line of people who are on programs to get money for doing nothing???? The more babies the more money!!?? I had an Arab guy here in DA HOOD married to a black woman tell me how smart he was by having more kids!!! I said only have as many kids as you can afford and he laughed at me (not picking on Arabs or blacks but just reporting what happened). I my self am a first generation American.

Meanwhile.....I'm in my little two bedroom condo that I paid off last year, a rented shop to do my car stuff and run a small nitch business that I started in the one car condo garage that's still plugging along nicely. If something happens I can work for the grocery store where I worked years ago or fixing cars as a shade tree mechanic or even McDonalds, but God help me I hope I never have to take unemployment.

What if you messed up a fender or grill on your car or mini van hitting a deer? Can't find the replacement parts at your local pull-apart. Just a thought... Anyone realize that salvage yards are the original recyclers? Since the days of the Model T parts from 'clunkers' have been used to keep other vehicles operational. Saves on having to produce a new part or a new vehicle. I hate the terms 'carbon footprint' and 'green.'

Unfortunately, the extreme environmentalists have gotten the government to force the big older 'safer' vehicles off the roads and put us in much smaller cars. They do hate your muscle cars, SUVs, luxury vehicles and pickups! Not to mention your house, your guns, your farm or ranch. The environmental movement has been co-oped(sp) by the Marxists. It is not about saving the environment with them. It is about redistribution of wealth. You shouldn't be allowed to have that nice big SUV that you worked hard to earn because the 'less fortunate' (again, another term I hate) on welfare cannot afford one themselves. 'From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs.' The core of Marxism.
 
Bunch of freakin garbage! I fix cars 4 a small shop and this is not helping me. They are getting rid of the cars that I get paid to fix and replacing them with cars that have factory warranty. Sure, bail out the car companies that screwed themselves over, using taxpayer money( from u and me) and take away work from people who actually want to do something with their lives other than sit around collecting checks for doing nothing.

Zach youre not seeing the whole picture. if the aftermarket isnt producing parts for 84 and up it hurts their revenue. This will in turn bite us when they have to make more on our parts to stay in existence. if they get rid of all cars 84 and up what do you think they,ll be after next? my guess is 84 and down. Or they will carbon tax it to the point you cant drive it. The guy in the White House is not a car enthusiast.
 
ok ok I work for a Dodge dealer and we are getting these clunkers traded in.
Now.... for the record... there hasnt been any Hemis, magnums, or other engines as such traded in since 98% of those vehicles are still worth more then the trade in allotment. Now we have seen a fair share of crappy *** old Caravans that smoke more then the band members from Cinderella. We have had a few 90's chevy trucks and some other non-descipt junk traded out.
Yes. The motors must be seized. We have to drain the oil and dump in some
Sodium Silicate liquid. (Liquid Glass).... fire the vehicle up and it just quits in about 45 seconds.... no firing it up after that. The vehicles are bought by the yards for salvage titles. all but he powertrian is available for sell as "Parts only". So thats the scoop.

Does it suck ?? I think so. Its just a stepping stone that will eat us all. However I see one good thing about it. The crappy Caravan wont end up in the neighbors yard rotting for the next 30 years...
