I got an estimate for a single cat dental, $500 to $1000 per cat. I need to get two cats done.
I'm just saying, but Veterenarian offices are a business, they exist to make money. If they weren't making money then they wouldn't be in business.

So that being said, I think you should either get a second opinion or educate yourself and look at the teeth yourself and make a determination of what needs to be done...

I brought Stripey to get his teeth cleaned and the vet said, "Oh by the way, his teeth are getting bad as shown by the discolorization, so some of them should be removed so they don't cause him pain." I said, "How many teeth?" She said seven teeth should be removed, at $175 per tooth... That got me mad because my cat was in very good health. So I decided to educate myself, and took steps to change his food, and also get his teeth cleaned more often. After a few months, the discoloration went away and his teeth were healthy for the rest of his life.

I understand it’s a business. We did find out yesterday only one needs a Dental.

How old is Stripey?

Stripey went to heaven almost two years ago, but he was 15 and very healthy his whole life. I've never gotten cat's teeth cleaned before, but the cat food these days (hard and canned) can be bad for some cat's teeth, and some other cats teeth are not affected by the cat food. I think it's best to give them hard and canned food, and to look at their teeth every now and then, to see what condition they're in.

Went and got a new kitten to replace one lost last month. 18 years old and now at peace. Found a breeder with this ragdoll and couldn't resist. Already gets along great with the 18 month old. Rare at rest photo, they aren't usually this still.

We give our cats dental treats, it helps clean their teeth, but not perfect.
