CB-481 HXN Clevite Rod Bearings

Just started mocking up my 408. Went to put the Rods/Pistons in today and noticed that these bearings are not chamfered. Are they supposed to be chamfered on one side of each or are they just narrower than standard.

The correct part number is stamped on the bearing.

I was always under the impression they were supposed to be chamfered.

Some are, some arent. If you ordered the chamfered one, and you got the other type it could just be a packaging error

The "N" at the end pf the part number denotes they are the narrow bearings.

narrowed means they do not need to be chamfered...that is how they come these days..

Thanks guys discovered that after asking the dumb question. My first stroker engine and learning as I go
