Well, this is kind of a continuation of another thread I posted, so some of you well know the direction I am taking here already.

The issue now is with the cc's.

I have two 360 heads that are different years The 71 head I have is 66cc's the 79 head is 61cc's! we did some machining and got them up to 64cc's. he thinks that the 2cc difference on the 2 sides should be o.k.

Is that something you guys would agree with?

I am thinking about selling these and getting some Edlebrocks, but then my engine probably won't be running to next year, because I'll have to put money away for them. So it's kind of a toss up.

Is a good place to get Edelbrocks for a good price? is there a certain type to look into? I saw "RPM" heads. Is type better then the other?

Thanks!

OK, for starters, the 2cc dif. is not a big deal. I agree.

On the Edelbrock heads, they sell 2 kinds for the small block. One is designed for the early 340 engine with pistons that come out of the block. The other is for zero deck pistons or less than zero deck.
They only make RPM heads for Chrylser guys.

Stick with the iron heads fornow for 2 reasons. You allready have work into them and you'll not get your money back on them.

2.. From where you are now, the cost of a Edel. head will be more for less performance if you took the same amount of money and put it back into the iron heads. You can spend the ruffly $1500 on porting, valve and springs for more flow than the Edel. heads.

On the street, there is seldom use to have more than 250 cfm worth of flow and the iron heads are capable of this level if need be. So the logic of better flow out of the Edel. head is moot and the weight is a hair splitting issue. The weight difference betwwen heads is small in terms of performance on the street or strip is stupid to even get into it's so small.

Well, I guess the way it sounds I'll just run what I have then.
I guess I'm just being paranoid. It's just not working as "smoothly" as I hoped, little snags here and there. I just hoped it to be a simple rebuild and poof it magically would be done. I guess it doesn't always work that way.

Thanks guys...
