OK, based on all of this info, how about these options:
1) For those who have drum and want disc:
Get a pair of 10" drum spindles, buy the SSBC brake kit; OR
Get a donor disc set up from a 73 up.
2) For those who have KH and want to end the BS:
Get a pair of 10" drum spindles, buy the SSBC brake kit; OR
Get a pair of 10" drum spindles, and based on the link below, it appears the key to the SSBC kit is the spacer bushing and the caliper bracket.
So, the big questions are:
1) Can the spacer bushing be bought or duplicated if you had the skills, or knew someone who did?
2) Would the existing KH caliper bracket work?
3) Would the existing KH calipers work? (I believe the KH caliper and the SSBC caliper look the same, but they are not).
I have a feeling the answers are all no. The more I think about it I think I am leaning towards getting a set of 10" drum spindles and the SSBC kit.
